Simple cell phone for elderly mom- with Wi-Fi calling

Anonymous
Advice please!!!
My mom is 84 and active but is not good with electronics. We got her a Jitterbug flip phone and it is everything she needs from a phone. Simple, easy to make calls and the emergency button has been used 3 times in the past year. BUT it does not work well at her house, except for the emergency button, and never has a signal at our home. We both live out "in the country" but have wi-fi systems. After much more research I have figured out that while the phone does connect to the wi-fi service it does not have WI-fi calling. The company representative promised that the smart phone version would fix that so we went and got that BUT it does not support wi-fi calling either!!!!! Evidently, the emergency button makes calls on a different network which is why that worked.

So, does anyone have a suggestion for a simple to use cell phone that does support wi-fi calling? She only wants it to make phone calls. She will never watch a movie on it. We can go with any carrier, but really need an easy phone.

You can get an iPhone and then set up the home screen so it only has a few options. So if she only wants to make calls, you could have only the phone book available.

See the steps here:

I got my mom and iPhone and then connected it a Panasonic cordless phone with Bluetooth. Now she doesn’t have to touch the iPhone to make or receive calls.

Wow, that's neat.(NP) My mom has a fully loaded smartphone but only knows how to turn it on and make/receive calls (and even those are iffy). I think it was free with adding a line, though.
