I am requesting advice on how to find a condo or apartment in the area because I am relocating here for my new job. I am specifically interested in certain neighborhoods/areas in Arlington. I searched on realtor and apartments dot com by neighborhood, price, proximity to metros, and bedrooms, but there are still over 40 search results. it seems that I have to call or email each company individually to contact them to tour So I need another way to narrow the list down. (I do have a few more criteria like a gym and parking, but those are not deal breakers.)
I will be visiting DC this week and start my job in July. Are there renter agents or brokers similar to those who help with buying real estate? |

Probably, OP. But I bet a lot of people on here live in Arlington (I do) and could help better if you tell us more. What areas are you looking at? What's important to you?
Arlington is pretty solid all-around, and I think you would like living in most places. |
| Narrow it down to a section or two of Arlington, then that should whittle down the 40 to a reasonable number. If you find that you want to rent in a building that is owned and managed by a big company, they are usually staffed to handle potential tenants on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays. Ask if they have virtual tours of the unit. I am a rental propery owner, the first thing I send potential renters is the virtual tour so they can get an idea of the property before meeting so our mutal time isn't wasted. Good luck! |

Thanks you so much. I have already done a lot of research on the are so I am focusing on living near the Clarendon, Courthouse, or Ballston Metro Stations. Adding in my move in date gets me to 15 or so. I watched some virtual tours and the Google Maps street views. I also found a privately owned condos too.
Other than the floor plans being slightly different they all look great. What are some things to help decide between looking at one building over another online? Also Is there anything that I should make sure to ask or look for on the actual tour? |
| Those areas are all similar and close together, and all will be fine. I would pick based on price, overall feel for cleanliness, and maybe sound if you are living in a large building. Do you care about parking? You really can't go wrong with these choices. Welcome to the DC area, OP! |
| Thereby aren’t really rental brokers like that in the DMV. You need to call each one. Sorry. |
| Craigslist used to be good. |

Yes, there are definitely real estate agents that can assist in finding you a rental.
Petra Socolovsky helped us navigate and find a perfect rental https://www.compass.com/agents/petra-socolovsky/ |
But since most rentals aren’t in the mls, you are seeing a tiny fraction of properties. |
| We liked Ballston Place. |
