Reggio or Montessori Daycares?

Anonymous
In search of a Reggio or Montessori inspired daycare in Arlington/Alexandria area for my baby who will be about 10 months old when he starts. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am looking for a place with a nice outdoor space that uses natural materials--no over cluttering or use of plastic toys with batteries. I appreciate any recommendations!

Our center uses Creative Curriculum which is generally preferred by Kindergarten teachers. There are no screens or plasticy toys that are battery powered. They take the babies in buggy rides through the park and sometimes have them on blankets outside. They also have age appropriate and safe toys. Please don't be taken in my buzz words. Go and tour places and get a feel for the management, staff and the spaces.

Agree to tour with your eyes wide open, and keep in mind they probably are at their very best when someone is touring.

Metta Montessori in Arlington is great! Tons of outside time, in almost all weather for the kids. Lots of natural materials. I think the youngest they take is ~16 months, though.
