| My second grader scored substantially differently on the MAP vs. The Math District Assessment. Map scores were a consistent percentile across several seasons and grades. I'm not sure if the math district assessment was only given once, but I don't think I've seen more than a single score. Can anyone speak to the differences in what the tests measure? I'm trying to understand if the math district assessment was a fluke or if my kid is disproportionately lacking in some skills measured there vs. the map. |

The MAP test is an adaptive test, so the content will vary based on how the student does. Getting a question right brings a harder question, and if that is right a harder question still, until the student gets one wrong -- then she gets an easier question. They are working toward the point where student gets one right and one wrong consistently to figure out the score. Therefore, a student could get content that is at, above, or below grade level.
The district assessment is a Eureka assessment. It's on grade level and tests just was was taught. They are taken multiple times a year, so you could reach out and ask the teacher for information on how your child scored. |
| My kid got 92nd percentile on MAP and a 3 on the district math assessment, if that helps? |
| I the district assessment same as MCAP? |
| I believe the district assessments are ones that are built into Benchmark and Eureka. |
| Ah the season of second grade parents fretting about their gifted kid's scores. The good ole days. |
94 and 3! Total mystery. |
| I think MAP tests are multiple choice (according to my kid) whereas with the Eureka ones you have to figure out the problem using the method they as you to use and show all work. My kid used to regularly get half credit on problems when she got the right answer but did it in her head without showing work. |
| I thought I made this post😂😂 my son is 99 percentile since kindergarten and still 99 percentile at second grade. But the math assessment he got a 2…..I’m totally lost. |
| My kid in third grade is 97th percentile and a 5. Last year they were 38th and a 2, so it seems consistent to me between the 2 assessments. |
| The math district assessment is just a regular Eureka math test (end of module or mid-module). For every quarter, the county picks one that's required for all kids in that grade to be centrally administered. **This test has nothing to do with MAP** and everything to do with if your kid is absorbing the materials taught in class (like the 30 different ways taught to add and subtract in 1st and 2nd grade). |

when was the most recent district assessment and where can we see those results? All I see is a MP2 test
|
PP here--asking for 3rd graders, not 2nd. |
| You need to ask the teacher. |
