DC plays on a 2nd team for large local DMV club and on ODP. Has signed for one ID camp this summer. Now, through recruiting tools offered by said club and ODP, she is getting invites to comparable ID camps. The invites/emails have her name and are at least on the surface from head coaches.
I am assuming these are still standard mailing list outreaches, right? No one is going to know her specifically? |
Unless these are coaches that you've already contacted directly, then yes, no one will know her. |

I believe you are correct in that assumption 'no one will know her specifically.' There are multiple threads on the value of ID camps. Most are 'camps' for older kids except for the very few that have started a serious recruiting dialog with video review with the Coaching staff at the school they would like to attend. Everyone else gets some exposure to that school, while paying for training. Most of the ID camps get players to attend through the lists generated by other organizations and they do not know more than name, birthday, gender and current club.

A decent Youtube Video describing what the above poster mentioned:

| DS is working with a coach who specializes in helping athletes with college recruitment. He told him to ignore those invites because they are meaningless even if they appear personalized. |
