Any Robinson MS XC Impressions?

DS who's a rising 8th grader was interested in taking up MS Cross Country next year at Robinson Secondary / FCPS. Wondering if anybody had any impressions from the past year - I get the sense that it's more like a no-cut club than a full up team, but wanted to check. Thanks.

My 7th grader did it and loved it, plans to do again next year.

Very positive coaches. Kids ranged from beginning distance runners to competitive. Meets were fun and supportive. They practiced after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays, I think, but many kids only went 1x due to other activities.

Thanks. Our DS is a beginner for sure. Do you happen to know what kind of distances they were covering this year, so that we can be in reasonable shape to keep up?

I think practices were 2-3 miles.

They group the kids by pace, so I don't think you have to worry much about prep.
