| My son came home with a cord but has no idea what it's for. Is there a key somewhere? |
| May be for National Honor Society? |
| What color is the cord? |
They always list the cord breakdown in the graduation program. I'm sure that's already printed. Call the main office, bet they can tell you. |
What school and what color? Can he ask the person who gave him the cord? |
OP, your son is about to be a high school graduate. Let him figure this out. -parent of person who is about to be a high school graduate |
My heli has a lot of fuel left! |
| MCPS has a policy of providing at least one cord to all graduates so that they don't feel left out. If he doesn't know what it's for, it's likely because it doesn't stand for anything in particular. |
This is op. That's what I assumed but his friends didn't get a cord which is why I become curious |
What??? You being part of graduation is not being left out. You getting the diploma is not being left out. The cord is suppose to signify an achievement of some sort. |
No such policy at our HS, so if you actually experienced this at an MCPS HS graduation, perhaps it is unique to yours. |
š¹ I would be curious too. Did you find out what the cord was for? |
| I didnāt know they did cords. My kid received a purple tassel for the superintendentās award for having more than 240 SSL hours. NHS also has a tassel but they havenāt arrived yet so I donāt know what color. |
There is also one for kids who took Financial Mathematics but no idea what color. |
This is false.2 |
