Kind of sad but how did this make the evening news? |
It's local news and people like stirring the pot.
It's quite funny that the school taught the kids about segregation and then were surprised that the kids tried it out. Good luck with sex ed and Drug Abuse Resistance Education. |
Fun how the story referred to the principal as the principle. |
I mean, it’s not good, and I’d be mad if this happened to my kid. But kids say mean stuff all the time. Sounds like the school handled it. Not sure this is newsworthy. |
They pushed and pushed until they pushed back. |
Wait until they hear what Becky said to Kristin in the hallway at George Washington Middle School. |
I see nothing funny about this. |
It's funny because it's a complete non-story that has somehow made the local news in lieu of the many, many important issues in education that receive no coverage at all.
But hey it's about racism so it gets the people talking! |
How does this differ from parent-led racial “affinity groups” at places like School Within School? Can anyone expound on how those are different? |
The kids were getting along just fine until the adults got involved and decided to teach them some lessons. Maybe the lesson should be to leave the kids alone. |
That's why it was put on the news because they thought it would drum up a lot of clicks and views. Didn't happen |
While I think this is an important nuanced issue for that school community to address and confront, I’m not sure it needs to be reported on in the local news. |
