Did you really not drink water all day? My appointment is at 2:15pm. I honestly don’t think I can go from waking up at 7am until the procedure without a sip of water. Anyone confess to sipping a little water? How did they respond? Did they cancel your procedure?
From what I can tell, this is not evidence based. The American Association of Anesthesiologists guidelines are to stop water 2 hrs before a procedure, not 9. |
| It’s all kind of a blur but I thought the directions said clear liquids were ok until closer to retrieval. Have you talked to your nurse directly? They do ask you before the procedure when you last ate and drank so definitely make sure you clarify lest they cancel your cycle. A few hours of dehydration is not the end of the world. |

Just drink a lot before you go to bed.
You’ll be fine. |

I drank and even had coffee and lied. I’m alive to post this.
I googled the surgery rules in Sweden and decided the Swedes likely have decent rules. |
It’s not and it’s silly. So many women are unfortunately willing to go along with things and won’t push back. No drinking water for 13 hours? But those are the rules! |

Have you had narcotics before? I think the issue is the narcotics make you nauseous. If you've had narcotics before you would know how much you can risk it
Definitely if you're gonna have a sip, do it out of sight of the nurses!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
You rebel! |
If they cancelled right before the retrieval that would be an expensive disaster. |

I had a 2:30PM retrieval and was told no food after midnight and only small sips of water after that point.

| I had a 4pm polyp removal and questioned my bil who is a MD and he said he saw someone choke to death while on his anathesia round so that made me decide to follow their rules. |
