| Does this offend anyone if you see this while you are speaking at work? |
| No. Vast majority of the time it means the person is tired. It would have to be often repeated or done dramatically for me to read into it. |
|
Don't you find it rude though? You are talking, they are supposed to be listening but they are yawning!!
Yawning tells me yes they are tired but can also be seen from the speaker's perspective that they are boring, not interesting or that they could care less what you are saying. No? |
| Report them to HR for disrespect. |
| Yawning is an involuntary bodily reaction. Its not always about you. |
| I yawn at work bc I wake up at 5 am for my workout and by 2 pm I could use a nap. It’s really nothing personal. |
| It’s only rude if you don’t cover your mouth |
| I have a colleague who yawns uncontrollably sometimes when we speak - like repeatedly. She always apologizes. It seems to be unrelated to me - I think it's a medical situation or something. Anyway, it is distracting and makes me think she may not actually be able to focus on me, but I'm not offended. |
