there are lots of buses but I don't know which one goes from Dupont -- Washington Deluxe, DC2NY are two more that haven't been mentioned

I know that Vamoose is the one that goes to Bethesda. It might stop at Tenleytown first?

Either Vamoose or Megabus, I can't recall. But if it isn't on the website, then call. I saw the sign up outside of the Whole Foods a while back and looked at the website and there wasn't any mention of a Tenley stop.

This is copy pasted from a NYT article in 2008. I copied it, emailed it to myself in gmail and can retrieve it anytime I need a good NYC bus starting point. I don't know if any of this is still current but good luck.

Schedules for the express buses on the East Coast vary widely, and so do the prices. GotoBus (www.gotobus.com) offers online ticketing for many bus companies. Here is a sampling of some popular lines. Check their Web sites for precise times, prices and for last-minute changes.

Vamoose goes from Bethesda, $25 each way & the 4th trip is free. Very nice Hasidic run bus.

Vamoose has signs outside of Tenley indicating that it picks up from Tenley metro. I've never seen one stopped there, but I have seen them on Wisconsin going north towards Friendship Heights. The website doesn't mention the Tenley stop, but it's worth a call if you'd prefer a Tenley stop over one in Bethesda or downtown.

Bolt drops off/picks up at Union Station now, which is easy metro to Tenleytown. I really like Bolt and have had consistently very good experience with them. It helps that my NYC friends live in the lower east side, where Bolt has a stop.
