Dumb tipping question - house painters?

I’m having the exterior of my house painted. It’s a big job with a really big price tag. The number of workers varies each day. Do I tip at the end of the project? And if so, how much?

No, provide snacks, drinks and maybe lunch.

Thank you! I mostly assumed no, but I tend to overthink this stuff.

I only offer cold soft drinks and water each day.

We tipped $20 at the end of each day since the crew changed. 5 day job.

Tipping is a bad practice. If everyone starts tipping, then they end up getting paid less by the company owner. And then when people don't tip, for whatever reason, they end up working for nothing.

I tipped $30 each for the two workers who painted my powder room. They also changed the mirror, light fixture, towel rack, and sink knobs.

Out of curiosity, why did you tip them?

It's one thing to tip for a small task, but painting is a contract. They do not expect tips.

I tip because they did good work and I have the extra money that will be much more appreciated by them by me. I’m a chronic over tipper.

No, unless they do something special that might be outside the scope of the project. Water, soda, snacks is all I would do.
