Question for runners/bikers- charging dogs

Couple new neighbors on street don’t leash their dogs and no electric fence. As several of us on street have been charged at and neighbor is not interested in any behavior corrections, wondering is there a dog-safe but effective ultrasound device or something to carry that could turn dog around and away from us (and not make dog madder!). Ideas? See a “dog horn” on Amazon but would love something more discrete so could just go past dog without making big deal of it but to feel safer walking past.

Call the Police if you are getting chased by a dog. I would also carry bear mace. Punish the dog AND the owner.

But more to your point, there is a viral video of a guy on a bike who has one of these and it works for him.

100% call animal services. In MoCo they will come out and try to catch the dog out, unleashed. Owner will get a ticket and a talking to.

This. If the owner doesn’t care enough to keep the dog contained, I don’t care enough not to spray it. I’m not falling off my bike and getting injured, bitten, or worse, because of their irresponsibly. Maybe after an annoying evening of cleaning the dog, they will change their ways. (I’ve been maced before in a self-defense class and it hurts but you don’t die. I won’t apologize for using it.)
