We need to get DD (8.5) a paid of sandals she can run around during the summer with. We’ve always done See Kai Run but she’s deemed them too babyish this year. We may try keens again but they have her blisters in the past. I’m not a fan of crocs as I feel they give no support (though of course this is what she’s asking for).
Any alternatives folks can suggest? |
| We have been happy with Dream Pairs. From amazon. Similar to keens. |

Xero has kids sandals. They are minimalist shoes. My kids wear them all summer. They use crocs for pool and when they will take shoes off and on like martial arts class and trampoline park.

| Tevas |
| Maybe Natives? Similar to crocs but sit tighter on the foot if you're worried about crocs flopping around. |
| Teva? Chaco? Buy from REI if you can since they have a great return policy. If she gets blisters, return them |
| My three kids wear nothing but natives all summer. |

DP here, but same question. Looking specifically for suggestions other than Natives, which give my kid blisters.
We've done Keens in the past but they are not "cool" and I don't want to fight DD on wearing them. I have the same concern about Crocs in terms of running around -- I want something very stable that will fit closer to the foot (but not made of the rubbery material like Natives that seems to give her trouble). |

My older kids wear Keens and my younger kids have always worn Plae. This year I tried to size my youngest into Keens and they are giving her a blister, so I sympathize OP.
I don't think the Plae's are going to be any "cooler" than See Kai Run. |

Mine started refusing that style of shoe around that age as well. She did wear these for a little while after but they don’t have a stylish look to them, either.

| Geox has seem nice sneaker sandels. There is also a newer native style that is not as flat that one of my kids loved last year. |
| Oh and we also went to just Tevas for most sandal type things. Altho for a mulched playground DD (8) will prefer sneakers with socks |
| I'v never heard that Crocs don't give support. If you get the kind with the heel strap I think they are fine. I wear them in the house. I hope they give adequate support! |
| Keens got so smelly and gave my kids blisters too. Honestly though, we stopped bothering with those dorky shoes after like kindergarten. My kids were fine in sneakers, and I find crocs to be totally supportive to do anything besides actual running. |
And Crocs are stylish? |
