I tried Strattera for my ADHD this week. I have not taken ADHD meds before, but things have been a struggle lately thanks to my problems with focus and executive functioning so I finally decided to try medication. I'm a middle-aged female.
I felt absolutely terrible on it. So drowsy I went to sleep for hours in the middle of the day on my day off but somehow really revved up and anxious at the same time. Just really, really bad. The psychiatrist told me to stick with it if I could and -- I couldn't. Wondering if others had bad reactions to this? I haven't heard of anyone having this rough of a time on it, but I can be very sensitive to medication, unfortunately. |

My son took it as a very young adult. He had previously taken a stimulant but developed crippling anxiety. The thought process was that a stimulant intensified the anxiety. Long story short, Straterra had no positive effect on the ADHD. And going back on a stimulant had no exacerbating effects on the anxiety.

| I took it for a month and it didn’t do a thing for my add. No side effects either. |
| It was the first med the tried DD on for ADHD in MS. She was underweight, so there were concerns with a stimulant making that worse p. It was awful. She was so spacey and out of it that she forgot to feed the small pet in her bedroom she had been caring for by herself for years and it died. We should have taken her off sooner (and noticed the issue with the pet, but it was super low maintenance and it never occurred to us she would stop caring for it), but it’s a “wait and let you body adjust” med. Concerta was so much better. |
