This Explains a Lot.

I noticed my 15 year old daughter was on DCUM on her laptop. When I got closer she closed the window suddenly like she was "up to something". About a week later I was in her room and noticed her computer was open and on DCUM. There was an unfinished post about "Her" 5 year old was a pain in the A**. When she got home I confronted her about it. She told me that the kids at her school have contests to see who can make up the most believable stories on DCUM. After I grounded her (no computer for a month) I thought about all the strange post I've seen.

Not sure I buy it. I would think that teenagers would be too busy looking up "Dirty Sanchez" and "the shocker" on urbandictionary.com and googling "boobs" to bother with DCUM.

How does she even know about this site?

Sorry, but I think your post is bogus.

I thought the same thing..bogus. I would think the posts would be much more out there if they had a contest.

There was a society at some college that required the members to write to Ann Landers or Dear Abby, if it got published they were in, if not, no dice.

I think having her on DCUM is better than Chat Roulette, maybe she will read parents feelings on their behavior etc.

OP here.

She knows about DCUM because I am on here all the time.

Believe it or not but I saw it with my own two eyes.

I bet some of the boards infamous posters are teens.

Also, really...a month for being on DCUM?! She's either a complete angel otherwise, or you are seriously over doing it. A few days maybe, but a month sans computer for being on DCUM sounds a bit much to me.

I'm going to have to side with those who don't find this post believable. But, if it is true, your punishment far outweighs the crime (which is why I don't believe it).

OP,
Do you know how to check the History? Tell us what threads she's visited. On Firefox, it gives the Forum name as well as the thread name.

OP again....

She is not an angel. I don't think the punishment is too harsh I take honesty very seriously.

Have a good day Starbucks is calling.

I don't find this terribly believable either, but there were three posts this morning that were titled something like "My five year old is so xxxx" and none of them were very well written.

Fake.

A contest to see who can post the most believable post on DCUM? There are any number of fake posts that would be entirely believable. But about as interesting as watching paint dry.

Not buying it.

Nice twist to make up a fake post about fake posters. Clever in one of those dream-within-a-dream sequences in the movies.

If they had them, I would nominate you for a DCUMMY.
