Ice cream truck at a party

Has anyone done this for a backyard party (birthday, graduation etc)? Did you have other dessert like a cake/cupcakes as well? Just wondering if we should have something else to cut and distribute besides people getting ice cream from the truck.

I think truck only is fine.

I would offer some cookies or non-ice cream alternative for folks who cannot or do not eat a lot of dairy. Or who do not want to deal with ice cream melting. But you do not need to.

Most ice cream trucks have dairy free options

Ben and Jerry’s will set up a tent and serve it for you.

Just truck is fine, maybe you could offer fruit in addition if you have a more health-conscious crowd.

What age is the birthday/grad? Ice cream trucks aren’t really for adults, so it would be nice to have another option. And let’s be honest, there’s usually an ice cream sandwich or ice cream covered with chocolate on a stick, and the rest is sponge bob, snow cone, jolly rancher type frozen high fructose corn syrup crap. Which is fine for elementary kids and the reason I asked the age of said “grad”.

Adults would love ice cream if it is a hot day and it's free (already paid for by the host).

Yes, Ben & Jerry's. But it's an ice cream cart that shows up that kids order from, rarther than an ice cream truck.

I have never, but I would like to!! Sounds awesome.

Are you providing other food? Even savory? I would think some other options would be nice, but if it's a short event and this is provided I would still be pretty happy.

I love ice cream from an ice cream truck! Who doesn't love a drumstick?

We had the ice cream truck and a cake for our child's HS graduation. That ice cream truck knew our house from when the kids were old enough to hear the jingle and know what it meant. It was nice to celebrate with the driver as well, who saw the kids grow up (and we tipped him handsomely)
