Found this very interesting. Mostly because it supports my argument that neither Duke nor Wake is overly southern with the largest percentage of students at both coming from NY/NJ/CT, and relatively small amount of in state students.

Interesting - I think Wake used to be about 1/3 NC students when I was there in the 90s
It also was a smaller school then |
| ND strikes me as most geographically diverse, followed by Duke |
| Seeing that, the Virginia legislature needs to start mandating higher percentages in state |
| COA at Duke is $88,938. Wake Forest is $91,266. In state COA at UNC is $27,036. There's no reason for a high stat NC kid to pay more at Duke or Wake. |
Yet clearly a decent number do, for one thing, financial aid exists. Private schools want a geographically diverse class and every private school on the chart has that. |
Sure, when you pay more taxes so VT/UVA doesn't need OOS $$. |
| VT is the largest? I didn’t appreciate that. |
Both are better than NC. Only question is -- do you have the cash. A very large number of people do in 2024 in America. |
| My friends son is going to Duke and they are OOS from the Midwest. They were very surprised their son got in because he didn’t have anything special in his record. |
