In light of the redistricting that many school board members have said is happening, we are considering transferring our Irving 7th grade AAP student to Braddock. Do all aap center kids get to stay at Braddock for high school or do you have to apply for a transfer? |
You have to apply to transfer. It is not automatic. |
Bummer- thanks. Do most kids get accepted? |
There's some website you can check to see if the school is open to receiving transfers. My kid's graduated but we were in the same spot - super easy but it's bc LBSS was under capacity. No idea of status now, but like I said there's a way to check. There's also a fee imposed. |
It's my understanding there's a decent AAP cohort at Irving precisely because you won't succeed in staying at LBBS without some additional reason. Many families choose to make the big friend group shake up at MS rather than HS. |
Right. We did this for 7th and we are happy, but FCPS is talking about redistricting and we are on the edge, so I’m trying to avoid Lewis and wasn’t sure if this was an option. Looks like no. Thanks! |
