Ice skating helmet

Anonymous
I took kids to ice skating, and I fell back & hit head badly on ice without helmet. I was trying to learn skating backwards and I lost my balance. I was worried that I might have had internal brain bleeding or concussion, but things seemed fine. I want to get a helmet for myself, should I get hockey helmet or regular bike helmet?

My kids have been wearing bike helmet for ice skating classes, should I get them hockey helmet for full protection even though they won't play hockey?

A bike helmet is fine. Or, a skateboard type helmet might be best because they come down low in the back. If your kids won't play hockey, I wouldn't bother with a hockey helmet.
