If your dc is heading to UVA in the fall, what was their SAT/ACT score? Please don't hijak the post with UVA hate...Thanks! |
Applied TO and going in the fall. |
If you have to ask..... just go TO while you still can. |
1520 (accepted to engineering school)
You can check out the CDS or even better, the data by school. |
1390. Arts and Sciences.
Virginia DMV public, applied EA, and submitted test scores. |
Out of curiosity, did your kid include an intended major when applying? I honestly don’t even know if that’s a thing for UVA, we’re just starting the process, but DC doesn’t really know what they might want to study and it seems like everybody around us is indicating a major already. |
You just apply to a college (engineering, arts and sciences), don’t decide a major until end of 2nd year.
My kid SAT was 1440 into Arts and Sciences. |
To clarify, some colleges at UVA require a direct application. https://college.as.virginia.edu/declaremajor |
1550 Arts and Sciences. |
He is 1480, so he won't apply TO. But thanks! |
According to SCHEV, lasy year's incoming class had a 1510 at the 75th percentile, 1470 at the median and 1410 for the 25th percentile. ACT scores were 34, 33 and 32, respectively |
What percent actually submitted scores vs. TO? |
That is in the SCHEV data. |
I’m PP with the kid admitted with a 1390. We also considered the Naviance data for DC’s public HS, and that suggested to us that a 1390 and DC’s GPA led to admission more often than we were expecting. |
Last year my kid was WL in engineering with a 1560. Not sure I how much weight I would give to a high score. Many other factors. |
