Laurie king’s Mary Russell & Sherlock books

Just starting beekeepers apprentice. Curious if others have read the series, what are the best books? All good? Thanks

I love them and have met the author. The only one I couldn’t get into some reason was the Jerusalem one. Maybe I just didn’t like the change of setting. Let us know what you think!

I loved the early ones and thought The Moor (4) and Justice Hall (6) were the very best of the series. If you're taken by the first one, I'd keep going through Justice Hall and then see if you feel like more. I got pretty bored with them around book 9 and then stopped. But I have the latest one on pre-order, with fingers crossed, to see if she's back in the groove.

Adding to the above: her Kate Martinelli series is fantastic, btw. I wish she'd continued it.

I read a bunch— agree that Justice Hall was maybe the best of what I read— and then petered out and haven’t read any in a while.

I thought it was creepy that Mary and Sherlock met when she was a child and they wound up married. I didn’t know the term “grooming” when I first found the books, but it fits.
