Difference in EDP Levels

Can anyone speak to the difference in EDP levels (USNL I vs USNL II vs EDP III) for example on the boys side U15-U19 in this area?

I should add, I realize the level of play is different, but I'm curious how big the gap is.
Like the best kid on an EDP III team wouldn't make an EDP I team? Or are the differences more subtle?

My son moved from EDP3 to EDP1 without any issue. He is improving rapidly since making the move because the competition is so much better. But it really depends on the individual player.

Obviously there will be exceptions, but in general, there is a big talent gap between EDP 3 and EDP 1.
Our EDP team was undefeated in EDP 3, we were moved up to 1, and lost every game badly. Hopefully moving back down next season.
So sure, if your EDP 3 kid is significanlty better than anyone they've played, they might fit in EDP 1, but in general, probably not.

EDP 1 varies wildly…there are third teams from big clubs, and top teams from smaller clubs.
Some teams are as good, if not better than ECNL teams, others are pretty dreadful. There’s probably more talent disparity in EDP 1 than I’ve seen in any other division.
