When did Starbucks go back to straws?

My order is always iced tea and they usually give you a sippy top. Now it’s back to straws? When did this happen?

I still get the sippy lid as the default unless specifically ask for a straw.

I have to ask for a straw (Kentlands, Gaithersburg location) but they always provide a plastic one, if asked. Occasionally the barista will ask me if I want a straw with my drink, but usually I'm the one who has to ask.

In any case, no more nasty disintegrating cardboard straws = a positive thing.

I get a frap a couple of times a week. My understanding is that the new “ plastic “ straw is biodegradable. I’m happy don’t do the paper straws

I visit a few different locations and one will consistently ask if I want a straw. The others don’t.

I actually don’t mind the sip top. I do mind the idiot restaurants who give me a paper straw.

When they realized that the wokies who had lobbied for straw removal in the first place had moved on to another issue like burning it all down for “free Palestine,” they figured it was safe to bring back some of the conveniences like straws and figured maybe no one would notice?

The current Starbucks straws aren't that bad. They crack easily but they're not papery.

At the drive through they don't give one unless you ask for it, and in the store you can take one if you want. I only use one if I'm going to be drinking it while driving but I'm glad there's the option to drink it either way.
