Kid photo package is so expensive

We did a studio photo shoot with princess theme (they provide pros and costume) for like 25 mins indoor for my DD. The package includes 1 free photo. They show my photos the other day onlone, and photos come out really beautuful. However, they are outrageous expensive, 5 photos with digital rights for $700 or 1 photo with digital right for $200. They don't sell prints. The album is like $2000 something like that, and there's a package for $20,000. I don't know how they could remain in business.

That is more expensive than my wedding photographer packages. Where are other affordable kid photo photoshoot that I can buy prints in dmv area?

Take your own photos, OP, and print them out on a good home printer or at a printing service. This is what the rest of us do.

Buy the one for $200 so you can make copies. How many different pictures do you need?

I had some photographer show up in my fb feed that they “ need models” once it was for senior dogs and once was families. In return for you showing up to model you get a free session. If you want photos they start at $700.
Absolutely nuts. I don’t know how these places stay in business

JCP photographers run the gamut and same with amateur photographers. For a good photographer, the price should be under $500 for album digital rights.

Parent of older children - pick the best photo & buy it for 200. You aren’t going to want the 5 different princess poses 10 yrs from now, no matter how great.

I spent $$ & gave 1 fave photo from those (multiple) shoots on my mantle. Could’ve saved the money by just buying the one best pic.

I pay an excellent local professional photographer about $120 every year for photos of my kid. It's a short photo shoot (15 minutes) and we provide clothes and any props if we want them. The shoot plus one digital photo file is $60, each additional photo is $30, we usually get 3 photos total. We can also order prints and other stuff through the photographer.

The photo quality is really good and I like that we have annual photos of DD that are in the same style. It takes the pressure off the photos we take ourselves (we do those too but it's nice not having to hunt through those for one for sure good photo of DD). Easy gifts for grandparents.

You are being ripped off OP.

Did you not ask about prices when you scheduled the session?

Yes! i have done 2 Shoot sessions. I suggest looking by photographer and you can select someone who has the style you are looking for. I was too afraid to book a session and my baby to cry through it, so Shoot- was awesome. You just pay for the photos you want and they are $15-25 each depending on the deals they are running and how many you get.

Didn't you know this before the photos were taken? It stretches the imagination to believe that you weren't aware of the cost prior to photos being taken.
