Help me with ….

Sugar, sweets, baked goods, chocolates.

How do I stop my cravings for these? I am pre-diabetic and need to curb my sweet tooth.
It's been impossible in the last 5 years to do so.
I live with a large family and sweets are always in the house.

sugar cravings.

Eliminate it from your consumption. I’m not using diet because it has no place in your diet if you have these problems. Tell your family you are keeping the junk out of the house. If they don’t like it, tough.

We don’t regularly have this stuff lying around and when we do, I don’t even know about it. Once you’ve removed the stimulus, it won’t be a craving anymore. It’s just like alcohol. Cut it out.

The only way I was able to do it was to cut them ALL out. Can you ask the family you live with to hide them and not tell you and/or only eat them out of the house?

I found if I ate a little, it whet my appetite for a LOT more.

This YouTuber has a lot of great tips for controlling glucose spikes and insulin resistance. You don't need to give up all sweets, you just need to change when and how you eat them.

Basically if you want to have something sweet, have a decent amount of fiber beforehand to slow digestion and lessen the glucose spike Psyllium husk is really good for this.

Stop eating them. Do not have them in your house. Drink water. Maybe join AA because it sounds like you are going ti need a 12 step problem and there is likely an emotional component.
