I have been trying to eat lower carb/higher protein due to medical issues. I am also vegetarian. This can be challenging. Some of my favorite discoveries though:
-Grillers prime veggie burgers have a good amount of protein and are delicious with a thin layer of vegan chipotle mayo on top -I drink a daily protein ice coffee made with a protein shake, cold brew and sugar free caramel syrup -I eat gobs of greens. Spinach in scrambled eggs, veggie sausage cooked with a pan full of coleslaw mix or shaved Brussels, Bright Farms chickpea Caesar crunch salad with veggie chicken mixed in -Scrambled eggs with cottage cheese and veggies mixed in is a great high protein breakfast -PB powder mixed with greek yoghurt -Costco sized bags of edamame -Smores One bars are my favorite protein bars to keep with me if I am in a pinch when eating out and not finding good veg protein options Eating out is a challenge but I look for places where I can get eggs, tofu or beyond burgers. Unfortunately I find beans and lentils are too high in carbs for me. Any other suggestions? [And yes this has been very effective, I am down 12 pounds in six weeks and am at my lowest adult weight, but still much more to go) |
