Health and Medicine
I have a couple of suspicious looking moles on my private area. I would be much more comfortable with a female doctor checking me down there. Does anyone use a woman dermatologist that is more interested in health than cosmetic procedures?

Where do you live? If you're in VA, I really like Dr. Nims and Dr. Barry in Vienna. It's an all-female practice. There are two other docs there, but I haven't seen them. It's the one derm practice I've found in this area that I feel wasn't there to push cosmetic procedures. Good luck.

yes absolutely -- Dr. Brenda Berberian in Chevy Chase. She is all about the skin cancer and suspicious moles. I actually tried once to talk to her about something pretty cosmetic and she sort of pooh-poohed my question.
I switched to her because I care about staying alive and being aggressive re: my many suspicious moles. My prior dermatologist, a "Washingtonian's Best Doctors!!!!!" in Chevy Chase, only cares now about Botox, Restalyne and plumping. Dr. Berberian is still about the medicine. |
Dr Lindgren in Bethesda.
OP here - Thank you, thank you, thank you! I hope they take new patients and can get me in ASAP!
Love Dr Barry, but found Dr Nims to be very cursory in her assessment.
Dr. Amy Cole in Silver Spring.
