Leaving Norwood before grade 8

How supportive is the school if you decide you want to apply to other schools for 3rd/4th or 6th grade?

In any given year, Norwood typically has a few students leave to go to a single-sex school at third grade and/or fourth grade and then again at sixth/seventh grade. A few here or there leave to go to another co-ed school. There really isn't much attrition. The school helps with non-eighth exmission to the extent that they fairly fill out recommendations, make deadlines, and support the child in the spring as he/she starts thinking about leaving friends, etc. Their heavy exmission efforts focus on eighth grade placement. At eighth grade, they have a fantastic and effective process with a support structure for both student and parents.

That seems eminently reasonable. I was just wondering if they were less than supportive of students who want to transfer out, given some of the recent posts about other schools. Thanks.

OP, why are you leaving? Just curious.

I don't know that we will--we may stay all the way through. But it's a long commute.
