Waitlist for SACC

I called today for SACC for NEXT year and was told we were #27 on the after school care list. For those of you with experience with the waitlist, do you think we'll get off of it? I was told they won't start notifying parents until the Spring if there is availability. Thanks for any advice!!

Well, it all depends on the school of course. But for next year I think that is a pretty good number and you are likely to get in.

I'd be hopeful -- #27 isn't bad. Keep in mind that they won't start hearing from people that don't need the SACC again (those who are moving up in grade or are moving, or decide to have some other after school care) until Spring and Summer. Don't stress.

We got on the list for before and after SACC in January 2009 for SY20009-2010. We got into before in October 2009, and into after in Jan. 2010. By then we didn't need the after, so they moved us back to the end of the line for after.

There is definite movement on the lists toward the end of August. It depends on the school (with regard to how many kids they can have in SACC)

PP here (10:09)... to answer your question: Yes, I think it is very hopeful that, at number 27 now, you'll get in for NEXT school year (2011-2012). 50/50 for this coming school year (2010-2011), though you may get in sometime during the school year (assuming you need it for this coming school year.)

9:35 again. The reminder for the SACC bill for September went out a couple days ago, so I would think that a lot of people will start making their minds up as that bill comes due at the end of August.

You will definitely get in. I called last year, and I was 163 on the waitlist for this fall. I just received my letter a few weeks ago that we are in. Don't worry...just be happy that you called far enough in advance!

27 is good. I was 43 about the same time and got in at our school for the next year. Didn't hear for sure until June though.

We were waitlisted #21 for 2010/2011 and we got in (though declined as we found a better option for us in the meantime). I would think that you would have no problem since it is for the following year.

OP here--thanks everyone!! I think we are in a good spot. I'm glad I called ahead My son will start Pre-K this year so we don't need the slot until Fall 2011.

You're #27 waitlisted for Fall 2011... You are SO in. No worries.
