Does anyone have any comments, opinions or stories about Westgate Elementary school? We are considering a house in its boundary and wanted to see what people think about it and what experiences with the school are out there. Would appreciate any feedback. TIA.

No direct experience, so you may know all this: it serves a diverse student body of students from Falls Church and McLean (about equal numbers of White, Asian and Hispanic students; less than 10% African-American) who live in a mix of SFH and apartment complexes; tends to be a bit more turnover in student body each year than neighboring schools because of people moving in and out of apartment complexes; test scores have been very good in recent years (currently has an "8" rating on GreatSchools); and students who attend Westgate later split between Kilmer MS/Marshall HS and Longfellow MS/McLean HS (all very good, though McLean schools generally are considered the top schools in Fairfax County). As you probably also know, the areas served by Westgage are very close to Tysons Corner, so one should expect a lot of construction activity for the next several years. Some in the area are hoping residential values will increase once Metro work is done, though it's always hard to tell how much of that may already be reflected in prices.
