When they ask for donations through Cash App etc...
Do you donate to them? How much do you usually donate? |
| No. |
| No. |
|
I guess those who do not donate are in the minority or we are too old because among younger people this is quite common.
Perhaps it is an age thing? |
| Not a chance in h3ll. |
It’s an intelligence thing. |
| Nope |
| Nope. One of my acquaintances posted her Venmo, CashApp, etc. for her birthday. I found that incredibly tacky. |
And they wonder why they never have any money. |
| Literally never. |
| No to just straight up sending cash. I’ll often buy commissions/merch or donate to charity or whatever if people post a sob story though. |
|
This is definitely a generational thing.
it is very common among the under 25 crowd. |
Interesting. I’m in my 50s and generally don’t donate to these things, although I do donate regularly to groups I choose and some Go Fund Me. My birthday is coming up and Facebook keeps asking me to create one of those charity birthday things. I certainly don’t want to guilt anyone into something like that and have never started one. |
When a Youtube content creator does a live stream to either converse with their subscribers or film content and share it live, it is not uncommon for them to receive donations of $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 from their subscribers. I was watching a content creator live stream the other day where the content creator must have received over $300 in donations in just under 2 hours. The donations amounts appeared on the chat. |
| I'll buy merchandise; I'm wearing a t-shirt from a podcast I like right now. I donate monthly to one online magazine I read. Mostly no, though. |
