Waitlist movement predictions

How far on the WL do you think the big 3 MS will move?
BASIS
Latin Cooper
Latin 2nd street

Per last year, Cooper offered 41 spots, but this year, they started with 71 off the bat (vs 73) and they had a whopping 26 siblings.

I predict not much movement. People seem pretty satisfied with Cooper and the new building time is one year closer.

I'm hoping the ITDS list moves for 6th.

BASIS at least 60 spots.

Cooper -- less than 10

2nd Street -- 1 spot

Didn’t Cooper make 51 waitlist offers for 5th last year?

23-24 By October:
51 at Cooper
11 at 2nd
BASIS 75

My prediction:
38 at Cooper
6 at 2nd
58 BASIS

There will most likely be less movement at Cooper this year than last year. The Cooper WL is also tons longer this year.

We are at a DCI feeder, looked at Latin, went to the open house and decided no, did not even lottery for it.

I think some families with the option of DCI are just playing the lottery to see what they get and if they get a spot, then start to evaluate it and compare their options instead of doing it beforehand.

I don’t get that. Why do the lottery in the first place?

Why put energy into researching a school if the odds of admission are low and random?
