What's up with all these "vs. Brown" posts.
I smell a troll. And it doesn't take a lot to spot this one. |
How do you not know the answer to this OP? |
There isn’t an answer. We live fairly close to Georgetown. That is the biggest deterrent for kid. Trying to make them understand benefits with internships and access. |
What is it? Ivy vs GU ? |
Did they get into SFS? If so, pick that over Brown.
Otherwise, I would probably choose Brown, for a change of scenery. (I assume the kid is local.) -- the resident Hoya booster |
Brown without question |
None of us know this kid, so none of us can make an educated comment. Such rubbish posts. |
Now I KNOW a Brown AO is on this board. This all reads as very insecure. |
And FWIW, Georgetown. And Penn. And Cornell. Brown: Get your shit together. |
Hold up… I said Brown because DS goes to Georgetown and I know from experience that it is not a warm and fuzzy place. Getting into clubs is super competitive, research opportunities are scarce, library space is impossible to secure, and the food sucks. Plus, as a parent, it’s tough to get anyone to answer questions. DS is happy but definitely feels that the fight for resources is real. Friends at Brown do not have these issues and love the open curriculum. |
I'll ask you again: which posts specifically? |
Georgetown was once invited to become an Ivy. And they said "no thanks"
For this interest - gov't etc. It would have to be Georgetown, hands down for the proximity to politics in DC and everything else they offer academically. And I'd choose Brown over every other subject at Georgetown. |
But moving away from home is an important formative experience for 18-22 year olds. Georgetown might be a trifle better for DC internships and the like, but they'll probably grow more as a person at Brown and be exposed to more possibilities beyond politics and public policy. |
What’s your kid think about rats? |
