Is anyone reconsidering enrolling in NC State b/c of the Cancer Scare?

Not sure how to process this. Last fall it was my DC's dream school. Amazed DC got in. But now this?!

Isn't this an instance where it is terrible this happened in the past...but that building is now shut down and I imagine the school has tested every other building on campus.

I would think NC State is now the only college that knows the full history of all its buildings.

I actually had a discussion with the head of environmental safety at my child's college. Over time all PCB containing materials have been removed as well as asbestos there. It's hard to understand how NC State allowed these toxins to be present for so long. But I would think that, at this point, they will be testing all buildings and paying attention.

Nc state is ahead on this one. My thought is that this is going to prompt other schools to test.

Agree. If this is something you are worried about you are probably better off at NC State because they are aware of this. It probably exists at other colleges and they don't even know.

All schools should have an environmental health and safety department. The point of that department is to be aware of and address hazards like PCBs and asbestos. I'd be removing the heads of that department.
