Is this too much dairy?

Anonymous
I found a diet that really satisfies me during my weight loss journey, but it includes a lot of dairy, which everyone keeps telling me is a “bad thing”, though I don’t know why. Here’s the dairy I typically eat in a day:

I have a 15-20g protein yogurt with breakfast, depending on the flavor

With lunch, I usually have a half cup of low fat cottage cheese

For a snack between my lunch and dinner, if I’m really hungry, some days I include another yogurt

These two things (yogurt and cottage cheese) truly satisfy me. One of the yogurts has no added sugar, the other has 6g total sugar, but it’s the only added sugar I have all day.

Yes, I go to the bathroom on schedule. I’m quite active and drink a lot of water throughout the day.

I do use a plant-based pee protein drink, but I mix it with unsweetened plant-based milk (usually coconut, sometimes almond)

But people love to look at me like I’m a slob and proclaim, “That’s a lot of dairy!”

Thoughts?

Not sure whether it’s too much dairy or not, but I’m sure someone on this board will chime in that you need more protein

Why is anyone evem aware of what you’re eating much less commenting on it?

Seems like a normal amount to me.

And think you meant “pea protein”

I’ll save them time:

With all of this and after my added lunch protein and dinner protein, it’s already over 100g.

Coworkers. We share an office and we all typically eat at our desks. No, I’m not gassy lol And YES, peA!

I think that is fine, great actually. Most women can use more calcium and protein in their diet. Both have good cultures too

NP. That’s weird (at best), possibly toxic. Who comments on the contents of their coworkers’ lunches? Ignore them, keep doing what you’re doing.

The thing I’ve learned about dairy is that it’s an inflammatory food. I had to give it up due to autoimmune disease.

It’s fine. I blow through tons of zero fat Greek yogurt. Like I buy a pallet of six 48 ounce tubs at a time at Costco of their brand and also fage (different consistency). The only thing I’m in danger of is turning into Zorba.

Not true at all. Dairy may actually be anti inflammatory.

"Thanks for the gas, Yogurt!"

If you are seeing results, keep on. If not, evaluate changes.

Plant protein is not as bioavailable, and may be high in heavy metals. You may want to consider a whey protein instead. Can also be mixed with yogurt, Greek yogurt, etc.

I'd say that you prefer not to discuss your food and change the subject.

Thanks. I actually have bad luck with whey and casein protein and have discontinued them. I’m happy with the pea protein and for me at least, the positives outweigh the negatives for now.

Not everyone has issues with dairy, eat whatever you want and stop inventing problems that don't exist - if you enjoy what you're eating and can stick to it, your co workers' opinions seem irrelevant.

I had yogurt for breakfast and lunch today, a latte, and I'm making mac-n-cheese for dinner. Dairy is delicious.
