Volleyball- need something better than rec

What is available for a riding 5th grader? She is athletic and frustrated by the rec players.

Your best option is in November: try out for a club (at this age it is quite easy to find a club team). In the meantime offer her camps and clinics. You should probably continue with rec until she gets into a club.

Where do I find the club options? We are Arlington/mclean.

Here’s is list. https://www.novavolleyballalliance.org/clubguide

Mojo might be closest to you but you won’t know the practice location for next year’s teams until closer to tryouts. Have her go to summer and fall clinics for any team she’s interested in.

I would not pick a club based on proximity to home. MOJO is extremely expensive and not quite competitive. They likely milk the McLean parents who want their kids to have fun and don't want to drive too far from home.

I suggested starting with Mojo and understand your point. We drive father away for a club that’s a good fit. But my daughter is older and this kid is just stating out. They should start with looking at the places that are most convenient. There isn’t a reason to spend hours in the car for any sport for practices at that age.

Me again. There’s also Volley Viet in the area. It is much less expensive but you won’t know the age groups they are having teams for until the fall.
