I have a quick question! A few days ago, I received a letter saying that my DC has not met the criteria for literacy enrichment. Does that mean that he is not getting any enrichment in his current local school next year? Or does that only apply for CES program selection process?

This can be somewhat school dependent and dependent on whether the ELC program at your school is over enrolled.
How close was your child to the cut-off? |
| Same for my daughter due to local norms (super confusing). It’s up to the school to decide who receives ELC if they don’t make the lottery. Reach out to the school and advocate for your kid if you think they should still be considered for enrichment at the home school. |

The letter
either Kid was placed in lottery for CES, was not selected, will receive enrichment at current school. Child was not placed in lottery didn't meet eligibility, school enrichment at current school. Does not meet eligibility for enrichment. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1199097.page |
It’s specifically for evaluation of Accelerated and Enriched Instruction specifically CES program or ELC class. Your child may still seem enrichment from their teacher in class, but results indicated your student will served appropriately with the on-grade level curriculum and class. |
Your local school has the discretion to add more people into ELC. You should contact the school’s reading specialist for more info. |
| Talk to your school's administrator principal or assistant principals. |
