Yes. They will keep their 2019 team when they become a HS team. They will not have a 2018/2017/2016. They will eventually have a 2020/2021/etc. |

NL Youth teams are very bad. |
the NL 2019 team is actually pretty good this year. |
You have no idea what you're talking about, probably because your son is younger. When Trig was at SSSAS and he asked you to play for Blackwolf, it was clear you had to play for Blackwolf. It's the same way with some other schools/clubs. It's an unfair conflict of interest of a HS coach to be running a club. Luckily for SSSAS kids now, Trig is no longer there. As for his "rolodex", that is a joke. The players who got recruited by D1 schools would have gotten offers if they had played for other clubs. Blackwolf and VLC, however, have the best track record of college placements. |
Not a younger kid at all. My kid was on Blackwolf for several years and believes that his time with Coach Trig made a huge difference in his ability to get offers to play at several D1 schools. I think SSSA will flounder without Coach Trig and that will be apparent when the Saints run into the better IAC teams. They have already lost to Episcopal. As for your negative view of Coach Trig and his impact at SSSA, I smell the foul odor of sour grapes. Trig can be polarizing, but make no mistake that he is well-respected by college coaches. He is also very loyal to his players. I am very thankful that my son got to play for him. |
I don't see this on their website. Is this publicly announced? |
I asked. It is not on the website. |
Nope. My son was asked to play for BW but opted to stay with VLC, which was the absolute right decision. Trig's ability to get kids recruited is extremely overrated. He has had some very talented players on his teams, but they would have gotten the same offers if they had played for a different club. Blackwolf and VLC have been the most successful at college recruiting partly because of their efforts, but mostly because of the talent they've had. As for St. Stephen's, their offense was terrible under him. Look at all the goals they are scoring now. |
Is Giblin returning somewhere to head coach a high school? Saw something in the Wapo that suggested he is coming back to coach somewhere next year. Not GP of course. Anybody know where? I know he has a winning record, but who would hire a guy like that with all his rage issues? |
Maybe he and that Madlax coach can work together. That would be fun school to attend. |
+1. Seriously. Why some parents are willing to hold their nose and allow their sons to play for that maniac is beyond me. I guess it's ok as long as the owner threatens a kid other than their's ... |
So will they be focused on college recruitment? |
If you are looking for college recruiting, why would you go to a club that doesn't even regularly field HS teams?
Go to VLC or Blackwolf. They are the 2 best at getting kids into colleges. |
Because there are just so many spots, driving over the bridge to VA is torture and the Blackwolf coach is a lunatic. |
Sometimes all of this "college recruitment" chatter around lacrosse is just funny. My son is considered a good player (middle school level) and I could care less about any college play/recruitment/etc. I'm sure many of the other parents do.
Let's face it folks, these years of play and team and enjoyment are fleeting. Perhaps enjoying this time and letting - oh, I don't know, academics! - take care of college. Just a thought. |
