No way HB can do this for MS when they don't do intensified for HS |
What does it matter? You're planning to buy real estate for the "best" Arlington MS? You're going to move to the district for the "best" school from the district of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th best? We're at Jefferson, heading into 8th grade, and can attest to the fact that the school's pretty good. Discipline hasn't been a problem - troublemakers get away with little. Kid will be taking a full menu of the new intensified classes in 8th grade along with Algebra II. Kid could handle much tougher Chinese than what's taught, but that's that. We top up academics up with tutoring and summer academic programs, including language immersion camps. If you don't expect the sun, the moon and the stars at the MS level for your tax dollars in Arlington and are prepared to pay to supplement and keep on top of your kid's screen use, things tend to work out for your family. We left DCPS for Arlington so we're surely not as pick as Arlington natives. |
Do what? HB has said they are not doing these new intensified MS classes. |
