What is normal when it comes to having a cleaning lady?

Anonymous
These days, most private cleaners prefer to be paid via Venmo or Zelle.

I’d hate to work for you. What a negative attitude. Cleaners don’t typically steal. It’s not normal.

I am not a cleaner so have no personal dog in this fight but I think it is unfair to assume that just because a stranger is working inside your home that they will also steal from you.

Nothing can be further from the truth.
It’s like saying that all homosexual men molest little boys!
People need to stop spreading rumors and myths around like these examples represent a monolith.

I prefer this since it means they will get the house cleaner quicker.

Some of them will play loud music while they clean which can be annoying if you have a baby who is napping during their shift.

Many will do a light, surface dusting of coffee tables and shelves but if you have a lot of stuff you should probably do all the dusting on your own.

Most cleaners are very thorough in their work but they typically fall short in the dusting department.

They may surface dust areas mostly visible, but will not spend hours dusting numerous items and areas.
So if you employ a cleaning lady do so fully expecting that you will be doing most of the dusting in your home.

My mom’s cleaning lady does everything (AND does a phenomenal job at it) but she doesn’t dust.

So what does she do? That’d be a dealbreaker for me! The whole point of cleaners for me is:

-scrubbing things I don’t want to in bathrooms and kitchen and
-having everything clean at once!

Does anyone use 2x month cleaners AND also hire deep cleaners a few times a year? I’m thinking of looking for a different cleaner to do deep cleaning but don’t really want my current cleaner to find out. Is that weird? I was rearranging my open walk in closet and realized the hanging pole itself is dusty! I don’t really expect cleaners to move all my clothes over the dust the hanging pole but thinking I can make a list of these kinds of items for deep cleaning.
