That is not going to happen. The political risk and practical logistics are too daunting, even for the gun control crowd. More likely they will significantly restrict new sales and manufacture via direct bans and huge taxes, layer on some burdensome storage requirements, and radically expand red flag laws to make it easier to target particular individuals to disarm.

If gun ownership is outlawed, many will not comply. Nobody's got the stomach to go house to house to confiscate, so there they will stay.

If we can make people wear masks everywhere for everything, we can make them turn in their guns. And we will. There won’t be any need to go house to house. People will bring them to turn in when they are told to. Those that don’t? That’s why we have a military. Identify them, then send in the army.

Answering the OP: I live in Baltimore County, north of the city. Our HHI is $250,000. We own a shotgun, stored in our bedroom. We bought it during the shut down. We have one launched kid, one unlaunched. Why? Because Trump scares the bejeesus out of me. I cannot believe I now own a gun.

Your knowledge of how the Constitution works is stunning. But as a troll you already know that. Back to your bridge.

Seriously. Nothing like sending in people with guns to take away guns from people. Sounds great. Kinds like Nazi’s taking Jews possessions in the late 30’s.

Please move to China, if you have money or advanced degree.
Their facial recognition technology is #1 in the world. Few crimes. If any crime is committed, the criminals will be caught in a few days, if not hours.
No gun for private citizen and no crime.

There’s no need, we can work towards having that here, too.

And you don’t hear about 200,000 Chinese people dying in 5 months, do you? No. Because the Chinese understood how to deal with a pandemic. Testing, strict quarantines, and effective medical treatment.

In other words, the exact opposite of what we did here.

LOL you don’t hear about it because China lied, idiot.

There is a price for freedom, that's true. If you don't like freedom move to China where you (supposedly) can be perfectly safe, but aren't free. Your choice. Once you change citizenship to Chinese, good luck immigrating back here once you realize the gravity of your mistake.

Well, if the officials are lying it would be hard to cite anything official now wouldn’t it?

They may have lied somewhat but my entire extended family lives in China and none of them knows anyone who had COVID. Could there be a cover up for Wuhan specifically? Sure. But it's not some country-wide conspiracy. The US has so many Chinese immigrants with family back in China that any news leaks out almost instantly these days. It's not a black box, genius.

You’re just fantasizing. Compliance rates will be modest, as they have been wherever this has been tried. It’s of course entirely illegal to use the army on US citizens in this way, and that’s assuming the soldiers would follow such orders. Yes, if the Dems win their will be modest erosion of gun rights, but that’s it. The ship has sailed.
