DP This is incredibly common in some neighborhoods in Montgomery County. We've had a proliferation of illegal rentals where multiple families cram into a home or an apartment. There isn't much the County can do, as many of these families are undocumented, etc. |
No, actually it is not. CPS cannot do anything about it if a child does not have a bed but does have a roof over his/her head, there is heat and there is no physical abuse or neglect. Some of you really don't understand what it means to be poor in the DMV. |
Puts the children at risk for sexual assault |
How did you manage to jump to THAT conclusion? Wow. That's a pretty strong prejudice. You might be interested to know that poverty has no material affect on incidences of reported sexual assault or incest. Statistics of reported incest show that a child is as likely to be sexually assaulted by a family member in a rich family, where presumably everyone has beds, as in a poor family, where perhaps everyone doesn't have a bed. You really need to get out of your shell and learn a little more about our community. Volunteer at a food bank or a shelter or something. |
DP Maybe it seems that way to PP because there were a horrible string of sexual assaults involving young girls in MoCo where the adult perpetrator was living in the same home, but was not necessarily related. There were several of these stories in the news last month and it makes me wonder about the illegal rental home down the street from us that has a few you girls living there and some random men who come and go. |
Yes such rentals should be reported and kids taken away.
CPS does not care? Then why did it come to harass me on allegations I slapped my child?? |
Why is Kamala Harris proposing something that is out of the federal government's objectives and is under state control? This is not a civil rights issue. Does she try to make it one?
Does anyone else see a problem with this proposal just on the fact that the federal government, not the state, is proposing a change? |
It's stupid and that's why she quit |
