So if any of you have jaundice, I am sorry. The costume is not meant to be offensive, it is simply a reflection of my sons love of The Simpsons.

FWIW, he did have jaundice as a baby.

Since this is so amusing, suggest having him dress as an orthodox jew--payot and kippah.

Maybe not so funny now?

Still funny - these arguments are ridiculous! It's a 7yo Halloween costume, some of you are insufferable.

For all of you saying "it's just a costume", would you still say so if it was in blackface? I'm pretty sure every reasonable person knows that is not right (and in that specific case, even if your are dressing as a historical figure). Think about why that is not ok, and if those reasons would at least in part apply to other peoples.

Who wants to dress up as a Jew or in blackface for Halloween?

Way to miss the point entirely.

I didn't miss the point, I just find this whole thread ridiculous (including my responses, which were intended to be so).

OP, your daughter's costume sounds more appropriate for Thanksgiving. Why not suggest she wear it to dinner, and instead dress as one of the Frozen princesses for Halloween?

You can wear a black dress, top hat, and buckle shoes and be a pilgrim for Thanksgiving.

Wearing someone else's race as a costume is offensive. Period. It is clear.

Yes! DCUM is insufferable in general.
