Need some ideas for American gifts to take to my European friends this summer.

Local chocolate, maple candies or sugar, or other local snack/gift food items from the U.S. or DMV area.

For the kids of all ages, there is no better candy than JELLY BELLY jelly beans. Get a big 2 lb bag with all the flavors, take some small ziplocs to put a handful in, then distribute. Kids go wild for these, and every time I return- they say don't forget the jelly belly! I make small grab bags to give to people I meet or thank for doing small favors- keep a few in your purse or backpack. Use your imagination

I live in the PNW and my friends in Europe love vacuum packed smoked salmon.
