Yes, I am sure you would want that. No, unfortunately for you, I am not. Think of those parents at your child's school whom you admire and respect, I am one of those parents -- in part because I do not fall into your trap of, either, undue worship of, or unseemly envy of, the DC notables. |
Huh? For what it's worth, we're transferring from a school overseas to another international school and not at all interested in Big 3s. I just have common sense and value it in others, so I would probably tune you out in person. PP, you were right. I give up too. |
Stands for Greedy Developer School. |
As Taylor Swift says, Haters going to hate hate hate so I am just gonna shake it off. My kids don't go to GDS but I think the bashing is too much. I think only Sidwell and NCS/Albans people have standing to contest GDS' stature. |
I'm not sure if this is intended as a joke, but it is highly amusing. |

+2 (as in ROFL) |
So, the conclusion is that Big 3 schools do not consider celebrity status of parents? |
LOL. and Trump's donations to politicians didn't get him anything. |
I take the conclusion to be that all schools (not just "Big 3) probably consider celebrity status of parents, but that celebrity status is much narrower than some seem to think. |
GDS boosters histrionic rending of their skirts over first family proves that at least one school cares deeply about celebrity. |
The significance of your comment is lost on me. Does GDS have a lot of parents who are developers? Hardly celebrities if that's your point ..... |
I'm not reading this whole thread, but this itty, bitty K-8 I worked at in LA had Seal & Heidi Klum's kid, Luke Perry's kid, Oscar de la Hoya's kid, Jamie Widdoes' kid, and Travis Barker's kid. Emma Roberts also went there. So get over yourselves. |
You should read the thread. If you want to define celebrity as only TV personalities who have appeared in Star Magazine (even C-listers whose last notable show was 25 years ago), then only LA and NYC have any "celebrities" and there is no discussion. But if you recognize that the term is not necessarily defined by the box in your living room but rather by the place where you live, then it's a completely different discussion. |
Typical LA person. Too lazy to read. The point of thread is access. |
