Dubai, Georgetown and the Upper East Side?

McLean mofo

Not really. The Average HHI on the Arlington side of the McLean/Arlington line is actually higher -- www.census.gov

Not really

According to the census both of you are wrong. Apparently 22101 and 22207 are more alike than you care to admit, Saudis or otherwise.

In fact Mean Family Income for both Zip Codes are virtually identical:

City Zip Mean Family
McLean 22101 $205,408.00
Arlington 22207 $200,642.00

With all these so called rich Saudis in McLean, and the fact that Arlington is more economically diverse, you would think that 22101 -- which is McLeans richest zip code -- would have a significantly higher average household income. But it does not. Must mean all non Saudis in McLean have modest incomes?

Arlington is younger, better educated.

The highest-income census tracts in each of Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, McLean and Great Falls are higher than their Arlington counterpart, and the homes in DC are far more elegant. Arlington is basically Silver Spring OD'd on steroids.

That may be. Arlington is the ugly child that've made good. You all ('old money') are standing around saying to yourselves - " who would have thought", trying to discredit us every which way you can. You're looking in the review mirror and we, are looking straight ahead. Collectively we're the youngest most educated population in the region/US. You can have your saudi princes, but for us, it is the Brits royals that has captivated us. And so, give us Kate and Will please, and do away with one of the 10,000 saudi princes that you're so impress with.

What is mcLean 22102 compared to these ?

Again. Not relevant to ME. We make triple that and also in Arl 22201.

I couldn't have said it worser myself, even with an IPhone to auto-confuse! Hats on!

And don't let that review mirror hit you on the way in.

Arlington is a COUNTY (with a gazillions number of zips and different hoods). CC, McLean, Bethesda and Great Falls are NEIGHBORHOODs. You cannot make that comparison.

And yet, Arlington 22207 has the same average household income as McLean 22101 and higher than McLean 22102.

Facts speak. The census tracts in Arlington alongside McLean are higher income, younger, better educated. All this, despite half the lot sizes.

Feeling a little concerned about the future?

Once again...irrelevant. McLean has far more in common with North Arlington than it does with those other areas.

Except that North Arlington 22207 is apparently wealthier than McLean.

Not true. The census tract including country club hills and Arlingwood has higher home prices than any 22101 tract.

20815 is better than either McLean or Arlington. At least we don't pay taxes to Richmond to fund the ex governors rolex.

As for the elegant comment, McLean is generally a hardscrabble swath of 3/2 ramblers built on the 1950s.

I agree on DC, but apples and oranges.

Or in McLeans case - prunes.

I say McLean is better because it borders Pimmit Hills and is closer to Mosaic than hippy-dippy Arlington

This thread is idiotic. I grew up in Langley Oaks and live in Arlington (barely) in CB Forest. No one - not my McLean neighbors two houses down or my Arlington neighbors one house down debates this idea. Heck the house two down actually sits on the line ... One kid goes to McLean, the other Yorktown. 6 and a half....
