That's really funny, since there aren't any big white columns on the federal building the POTUS lives in called the White House! So many unfortunate photos of the Obamas on the South Portico these past few years.

The cache of having Obama's kids at a school ain't what it used to be. Just saying.

The bottom line is that GDS doesn't need the Obamas or anyone else for its students to be extremely competitive in admissions to Harvard and the Top Ivys.

The same is true for every private school in the area. They all have some students at top schools, including Harvard. None gives the child an edge.

To be sure, there are many good private schools in the DC area and a lot of their graduates are pretty successful. But when you take super-talented, smart kids, simply amazing teachers and a distinctive culture it yields fantastic results in terms of educational attainment and Ivy admissions.

Give it a rest, GDS Trooster* (combination of Troll and Booster). You can say "fantastic results" all you want but GDS doesn't make the matriculation info public (which is perfectly reasonable) so there's nothing but your repeated assertions.

Are you actually trying to say that GDS grads are different in meaningful ways from the grads of Sidwell, or STA/NCS, or Potomac, Maret, etc in terms of educational attainment and Ivy admissions? Because I just don't see it (and clearly others don't either).

This is just the same old pot-stirrer. At this point it is clear s/he is just trying to rile people up. Better to let it die.

Don't legacies factor into the Harvard acceptances? Hard to believe it doesn't. MANY of the DC schools have strong legazies.

Legacies do figure in, but IME many of the DC area public and private schools have tons of parents who went to very competitive colleges. In my DS's class at a MCPS elementary school, there are three parents who were in the same class at Harvard, and more who were in different classes.
