| What the shuck! I always say!!!!! |
| Really.............? Two years later... |
| Sure beats the Sta thread! |
| I moved to New York from the west coast. I saw this at the grocery store. I thought how strange. We always cooked it with the husk on so it is moist and sweet. throw it on the grill or steam it. but who wants dry corn. Yuck! |
|
I am from a rural area and it was considered fine to peel the husk back a bit to check the horn.
You don't want to shuck it till right before you drop it in the pot. Dries out |
+1 Was very surprised when I went to Giant for the first time and saw mounds of corn husks spilling out of a trash can in the produce aisle. I grew up in a more agrarian area of the country and never saw this. Then again, maybe because fresh corn was more plentiful there was less of a need to check it in this manner? Now that I live here I just feel the corn and pull the leaves back a teeny but to check. |
| I don't shuck but I love letting a big corny shit roar out of my asshole |
Speak for yourself! The hell I want to stand there next to bunch of old ladies peeling it back. But I wish i could leave the cereal boxes and the like at the store. It's half empty anyways and usually pokes through the grocery bags. |

Once I broke off the inedible bare stem of the broccoli bunch, and left it on the produce display. When I checked out the cashier, after giving me a scornful look, told me that I should not do that again because they expect customers to buy the whole broccoli.
|
Well that's true-- the broccoli is priced cheaper per pound than just broccoli crowns. |
+1 we must be alike!!! |
| Bumping because it’s corn season... |
| I’ve brought home moldy corn and corn with huge worms. |
Aw, shucks! |
| Peeling back corn is better than buying corn with larvae or missing kernels. |
