I am so tired of every tech bro telling us how AI will change the world without giving us any concrete examples

Use it or lose it… this applies to your brain too.

My org has been developing policy outlining how to use it “correctly” at work and what’s curious is we can’t use it for something that would actually cut tasks out of our day and make life easier — we can use use it to generate ideas for a report or create an outline but not actually write the report for us, which would be the big timesaver.

People are going to use it to write reports anyway, so writing a policy against it isn’t a good idea.

Exactly. They want us to use it and incorporate using it into our yearly goals but don’t want it to be such a great help that we’re happier at work 🤣

It lacks creativity. Fine foe any work where the answer and task is completely formulaic, but not for anything that requires any degree of creativity to be competitive with rivals. Otherwise everyone spits out the same proposals and content.

I am extremely averse to using AI but my friend uses a paid version and showed me something crazy. She took my photo and asked it to make the most flattering hairstyle for me and it did!! This is something I’ve asked hairstylists to advise me on for freaking YEARS and they always hem and haw and say “it all depends on what you like”. I’ve never gotten a straight answer even when going to a really expensive salon and paying hundreds. But this thing actually noticed my good and bad points and how to play them up.

what service is this? I'm interested.

I've been using chatgpt a lot these days instead of google. I live the interaction and leading questions.

I used a simple version of AI to write my job description, and it did a really good job.

It picked A hairstyle for you. That doesn’t mean it’s the most flattering.
